always lots to do and see!

There is always something happening!

 So What's On?

  All Year Something is Happening

UNFORTUNATELY

WE HAVE CLOSED OUR BUSINESS

SO SORRY TO DISAPPOINT

It doesn't matter what time of year; the Blue Mountains is celebrating in some way. Every village has a special day and all have particular attractions that make up an incredibly diverse array of activities for the visitor.

Silks - one of the many fining dining establishments in the slow food capital!Whether it is simply going for a stroll up the main streets of Katoomba or Leura or having a leisurely coffee on the sidewalks of Blackheath or Springwood; the mountain villages are filled with sights and sounds and the aroma of good food and of course coffee!

Some 'mountain folk' like to see the Blue Mountains as the Slow Food Capital of the world, and with quaint cafe's and fine food restaurants, and they may be right!

... but rest assured there are all the conveniences one expects with numerous take-aways and fast food outlets - notable amongst which has to be the Leura Takeaway whose friendly customer service and good food (best hamburgers in the mountains) make it a favourite port of call for hungry visitors...(ed. and myself!).

Not only does Leura boast several great cafe's and restaurants, but a visit to the "Leura Mall" often turns into a day out in its own right, as Leura is a shoppers delight, from its functional convenience stores through to its wide range of boutique speciality shops - there is nothing quite like a visit to the Leura Mall to conduct a little retail therapy in between all that healthy bushwalking and sightseeing!

A dazzling array of shops on the mall

For a list of Shops in the Mall check out the Leura Village Association website

The shopping diversity in the Blue Mountains is matched by the range of entertainment available, from sidewalk buskers, hotel bands and nightclubs:

JAZZIN' it up at Jack's Joint

Mercy Young Band at Jack's Joint!

Of note from July Jack Thompson has taken the initiative to liven up the entertainment scene in Katoomba by introducing Jazz to his Hotel (ed. Jack is the Blue Mountain's very own International Film Star - Sunday Too Far Away..., Breaker Morant, The Man From Snowy River, The Sum of Us... and even Star Wars, to name but a few), so now that he has taken up residence as the owner of the Gearin's Hotel, across from the Katoomba Railway Station, - check out

Jazzin' it up at Jack's Joint on most Sundays

There is simply so much happening that it's hard to fit it all on so may I suggest you check out the following event list and information addresses as supplied courtesy of the Blue Mountains Tourist Limited Website - http://www.visitbluemountains.com.au/

Garden Festivals
September to November

Garden Festivals throughout the Blue Mountains are yearly events combining open gardens with Music, Art and social events. The altitude and cool climate encourages prolific growth in Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Camellias, a myriad of blossoming trees and a variety of bulbs and exotic (European) shrubs - all set in landscaped grounds within small to large, often formally designed, grounds. Displays of flowers are extraordinarily abundant throughout the upper mountains from late September through to November. As the year progresses, flowerings progress up the mountains with Hazelbrook and Lawson exhibiting in September, followed by the Leura Garden Festival in October and the amazing Rododendron Festival in Blackheath late October early November.
